Linux: Firefox minimieren führt zu Systemabsturz

  • Hallo Leute,
    ich bin vor kurzem vom XP auf Ubuntu umgestiegen.
    Eigentlich läuft alles recht zufriedenstellend, nur ein Problem bekomm ich nicht in den Griff:
    Manchmal (nicht immer), wenn ich Firefox mit dem - rechts oben minimiere, stürzt das ganze System ab und zeigt mir folgenden Bildschirm:

    Code

    *Starting periodic command scheduler crond

    *Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)


    Weiss jemand Rat?

  • Poste mal den Inhalt der Xorg.0.log . Geht ganz einfach mit "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log". Seltsam das in der Konsole kein Fehler angezeigt wird.

    Das System stürzt bei ihm ja nicht ab. Die GUI stürzt ab. Einmal "startx" eintippen und es dauert nur 2-3 sek schon ist die GUI wieder da. Windows dagegen wäre jämmerlich verreckt dass ist natürlich sinnvoller.

  • Firefox minimiert, Bildschirm ist schwarz geworden und dann musste ich mich neu anmelden.

  • Es wird keine Fehlermeldung geloggt. Das ist schon mal ein Problem.
    Ich vermute dass es eventuell ein Problem im Zusammenhang mit der ATI Karte bzw. dem Treiber gibt. Da ich keine ATI Karte habe sondern mit Nvidia gesegnet bin(naja das gilt zumindest im Moment) kenne ich mich mit der Problematik da nicht aus.
    Ich denke es wäre sinnvoller evtl. mal im Ubuntu Forum die Frage nochmal zu stellen oder einfach mal andere Treiber als fglrx zu probieren.

    Die Treiber zicken halt gern. Z.B. schaffte ich es mit ATI 9600 nicht ein TV-Bild darzustellen. Mit einer GeForce 7600 GT, gemütlich (relativ zu Crysis) aber absolut lautlos, hingegen keinerlei Probleme.

    Die "normalen" Treiber deinstallieren und auf "envyng" umstellen. Dabei werden immer die aktuellen Quellen bei ATI heruntergeladen und installiert. Positiver Nebeneffekt dabei ist die automatische Reinstallation der Treiber wenn ein neuer Kernel installiert wird. Kannst ja mal bei "dkms" nachlesen.

    Ja, das ist er. Kenne ihn aber nur darum, weil hier auch ein paar Dateien herumliegen. Kann Dir aber ad hoc nichts dazu sagen. Nur habe ich unter System -> Einstellungen -> Erscheinungsbild -> Visuelle Effekte => "Keine" eingestellt.

    Da taucht man in die tiefen der Treiber Problematik insbesondere bei Grafik Treibern ein.
    Es gibt gerade mit ATI Probleme weil deren eigene Treiber praktisch nichts taugen sie aber nicht bereit sind die Spezifikationen zu veröffentlichen. Inzwischen gibt es da aber große Fortschritte und Alternative Treiber wie radeon. radeonhd oder auch evtl. bei Ubuntu die Sache mit envy.
