hm versuch es mal so ?

}
Die color kann auch mit in den allgemeinen background-befehl.
Ohne Testseite kann man aber nicht wirklich nachvollziehen, was das problem sein soll.
ich vermute mal das übliche height-Problem:
body {
height: 100%;
background: url(pixs/bckgrd_blue_corner.gif) bottom left no-repeat #FFFFCC;

Danke für Euere Tipps... ich habe herausgefunden, dass alles wunderbar funktioniert, wenn ich die Doctype auskommentiere... oh weh...:

Das Problem war tatsächlich die Höhe des body:
body, html {
height: 100%;
}
body {
background: #FFFFFF url(pixs/bckgrd_blue_corner.gif) no-repeat bottom left scroll;
}
body, html, h1 {
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
}Liegt am DocType. Bei xhtml gelten andere Standardwerte. Der body is z.B. nicht mehr automatisch 100% in der Höhe.
