Minimeter would like to support Tcom.de ...

  • Hi,

we wrote little extension that can monitor your ISPs upload/download volume in the statusbar of Firefox. At this moment it only supports 2 Belgian ISPs but it would be easy to extend it for extra ISPs.

I heard Tcom is a big ISP with limited upload/download:
Can anyone help us get the right HTTP Post/Get requests to retreive the right information? It usually is not a lot of work but we can not do it alone because we don't have access to your providers admin pages.

(Sorry if this is in English but i do not write Deutsch that good )

    More info on http://www.epigoon.com

    thanks in advance...

  • Maybe it's better to direct this question to T-Com instead. Additionally i don't think it's that easy to gather that information, cause for access to the data you need the account data for the person using the connection. I don't think it's a good idea to spread this sensible data. But maybe they can give you a reasonable answer. Good luck! :D

  • I sincerely doubt the Tcom will have any interest in this. (I mailed them anyway ;))

I think it shouldn't be difficult to get the needed POST/GET requests to get to the volume webpage. If someone who has a Tcom account (and has a Tcom IP) they could just log the requests and send me that log (without the password ofcourse).

Requests are not sensible data... if you think they are you can privatly email me at epigoon@gmail.com .

Anyway... if you think you can get me to support other ISPs than Tcom... you are welcome ;)

    greetings
    Tom

Maybe the one who could help you with your technical question are to smart to use tcom and instead using a cheaper/better ISP. ; )

  • :o I didn't know it had such a bad name.
    but maybeee...
those people all use IE... and if they see there is a little tool that can help them in Firefox... they will switch to Firefox... and they will finally be able to surf the web... and will get smarter... and then they will switch to other ISP's !... so at the end of the story Tcom has no users and Germany will be 100% Firefox... right? :)
So yet another reason to get those 2-3 tiny URL's..

  • Maybe it would help if you could post instructions, a tutorial or an example so that less knowleged people would know what exactly you want to know and where and how to get it?

Most Firefox-User will not know what you mean with "HTTP Post/Get requests".
