Hallo,
einer der Tips, nämlich das Umschreiben der "/usr/lib/firefox/ubuntumate.cfg" hat wohl geholfen.
Ich habe hier die eingetragene Ubuntu-Mate gelöscht und die Fritzbox entsprechend eingetragen.
Diese Datei hätte ich wohl nie gefunden, und englische Anleitung zu lesen und zu verstehen ist auch nicht immer leicht

ich habe ein Problem, seit ich vorgestern Ubuntu-Mate auf meinem Rechner installiert habe.
Ich kann im Firefox die Startseite nicht mehr festlegen.
Jedes mal wenn ich den Browser öffne habe ich folgende Startseite: "https://start.ubuntu-mate.org/".
Ändere ich die Startseite auf "http://fritz.box" bleibt diese Einstellung für die laufende Sitzung erhalten, beim nächsten Start ist jedoch wieder Ubuntu-Mate als Startseite eingetragen.
Ich habe unterschiedlich Wege ausprobiert, z.B in den Einstellungen per Hand die Startseite eingetragen, den Button "aktuelle Seiten verwenden" gedrückt, mit der linken Maustaste auf das "Startseitensymbol gezogen.
Auch das Bereinigungsprogramm auf den Firefoxhilfeseiten habe ich durchlaufen lassen.
Was kann ich noch tun?

ich habe ein Problem mit dem Suchfenster ( da wo die Suchmaschinen gewechselt werden können).
Wenn ich seit einigen Tagen einen Suchbegriff in das Fenster eintrage und dann auf die Lupe klicke passiert nichts mehr.
Das bleibt auch so, wenn ich die Suchmaschine wechlse.
Hat jemand eine Idee?

seit meinem Update auf Firefox 5.0 werden Fragmente einer Webseite nicht mehr gelöscht.
In der Praxis bedeutet das, das wenn ich eine Webseite öffne und dann die nächste, das Teile der ersten Webseite weiterhin zu sehen sind und nicht gelöscht werden. Selbst wenn ich den Browser schließe bleiben diese Fragmente erhalten. Öffne ich also z.B. OpenOffice und möchte einen Brief schreiben wird im Vordergrund immer noch der Teil der Webseite eingeblendet, der nicht gelöscht wurde. Einzig auf dem Desktop ist nichts zu sehen. Hat jemand eine Idee? Auf Dauer ist doch mehr als nervig jedes mal nach dem Besuch einer Webseite den Rechner neu starten zu müssen um wieder eine saubere Darstellung zu bekommen. Als Betriebssystem habe ich Ubuntu 10.10 installiert.
Ach ja, seit dem Update ist die Bedienung des Firefox auf Englisch und ich habe nach meinen Kenntnissen alle deutschen Sprachdateien nachinstalliert. Auch die Kontrolle über die "Sprachunterstüzung" sagt mir, das alles in Ordnung ist.

ich habe seit dem Update auf Firefox 5 das gleiche bzw. ein ähnliches Problem.
Bei mir werden einige Seiten auch nicht mehr richtig angezeigt. Wenn ich z.B. eine Seite einer Firma für Online-Verbraucherbefragungen öffne fehlt der ganze Text in der Mitte, bei einem Webcamchat bleibt das Fenster, wo eigentlich die Übertragung gezeigt werden sollte leer.....
Wenn ich z.B. folgende Seite öffne: http://hstreaming.zdf.de/zdf/veryhigh/100625_entzug_vks.mov
habe ich nur ein schwarzes, leeres Feld. Gehe ich in dieses Feld und tippe auf die rechte Maustaste und öffne den Stream mit dem "Videoplayer" wird er sichtbar.
Hat jemand eine Idee?
Ich habe Ubuntu 10.10 installiert.

seit wenigen Tagen habe ich den neuen Firefox 4.0 für Linux installiert. Insgesamt bin ich mit dem Browser gut zufrieden. Allerdings sind seit der Installation das Icon für die Startseite und das Icon für die Aktualisierung der Webseite verschoben. Das Icon für die Startseite ist nun am Ende der Adresszeile zu finden und das Aktualisierungsicon findet sich direkt nach dem Feld, in das ich die Adresse der Webseite eingebe. Das ist natürlich für den Gebrauch ziemlich blöd.Was muss ich nun tun, um die beiden Icons wieder an ihren angestammte Platz ( hinter den Icons für Seite vor/zurück) zu bekommen?
