Dann ist es mir wohl noch nie aufgefallen. Soll wohl so sein?

Mit dem neuen Code liegt unter 'Firefox-Schaltfläche' die oberste Option außerhalb des grauen Rahmens - ist das bei dir auch so, oder liegt es an meiner Konfiguration?

Das ist die Version, die ich vorhin heruntergeladen habe, sich aber nicht installieren läßt.

Ich habe jetzt mal auf die ältere Version 2.9.0.11 downgedatet. Wenn ich dann auf 'Auf Updates überprüfen' gehe, wird mir die 13 als neue Version angezeigt, nicht die 14.

Es geht um die neue finale Version 2.9.0.14, nicht um die rc1.

Nichts zu machen.

Beim Autor selbst steht die neue Version noch gar nicht zur Verfügung.

Wenn ich 'Auf Updates überprüfen' gehe, wird mir auch nichts angezeigt.

Das ist die Version von AMO.
