Starting FF in a new profile and reinstalling the add-ons solved the problem.
(I do hope that this procedure is not going to be repeated with every new FF version. There seems to be a downside to the open structure and open add-on policy.)
Anyone of the FF-support to comment please?

Sicherheitssoftware is Mc Afee.
In dem Add-ons momentan:
Java Console 6.0.19 aktiv
Java Console 6.0.17 nicht aktiv
McAfee SiteAdvisor aktiv
Skype extension for Firefox nicht aktiv
Wörterbüchen und SprachenWhäler sind entfernt, genau so wie Foxtrick und Psico TSI Tool.
FF 3.6.3 funktioniert einwandfrei.
Nur diese Add-ons verweigern Dienst: Wörterbüchen und SprachenWhäler, Foxtrick und Psico TSI Tool. FF 3.6.3 lehnt Foxtrick ganz ab bei neu Installation. Das seit der Installation FF 3.6.3!
Also was sollte jetzt getestet werden in abgesicherter Modus?
Windows 7, Java 6.19, after update to Firefox 3.6.3 Add-Ons stopped working. Add-On Manager could only be closed with Windows Task Manager.
This subject is encountered in various fora. Suggestions to fix did not bring results.
