    FireFox offers the user a lot of control over his/her browsing experience. I like that. It is probably not perfect...but for a product that is at version 0.8, it is pretty damn mature. Mature enough that I use it exclusively. I have not encountered many sites that it has had problems rendering. The ones it did have problems, well those sites are to blame. - by ffx

  • Firefox 0.8 und ActiveX

    Hi, ich besuche regelmässig eine Internetseite, die auch die Meldung gibt, es sei unbedingt der Microsoft Internet Explorer zu verwenden. Mit dem IE ist für einwandfreie Funktion der Seite der Download des ActiveX Plugins nötig.

    Auf einer englischen Seite über Firefox 0.8 war zu lesen, dass Mozilla dringend abrät, ActiveX zu installieren. An anderer Stelle heisst es, Firefox unterstützt ActiveX gar nicht. Ja was denn nun?

    Ausserdem habe ich auch auf einer englischen Seite gelesen, dass der Microsoft Media Player die Installation des ActiveX Control Panels erfordert. Wenn dies der Fall ist, dann müsste doch ActiveX installiert werden können, oder ist das Control Panel wieder was anderes. Wenn nicht, besteht die Möglichkeit, dass die Installation des ActiveX Control Panels auch die Nutzung anderer Seiten ermöglicht, die wie in meinem Fall den ActiveX Plugin voraussetzen?

    Also gibt es gar kein ActiveX Plugin for Firefox 0.8? Man kann von dessen Nutzung aber doch nur dann dringend abraten, wenn die Installation möglich ist/respective es ein Plugin gibt?! Das ist alles recht unklar.

    Umgekehrt, wenn ich unbedingt auf diese Seite will und dafür das ActiveX Plugin notwendig ist, könnte ich das mit einer Vorgängerversion von FF 0.8 schaffen?

    Was ist der Unterschied zwischen einem "ActiveX Control oder ActiveX Control Panel" und einem "ActiveX Plugin"?

    Echt Leute, für einen relativen Computerlaien sind das böhmische Dörfer.
    Für hilfreiche Antworten wäre ich sehr dankbar.
