    @.Ulli: Danke für den Tipp, ich werd´s versuchen.
    Obwohl ich am Bios noch nie was geändert habe... und komisch auch, dass er manchmal ganz normal hochfährt, oder?
    Und das einfrieren wird dadurch auch nicht erklärt.
    Ich glaube, ich brauch bald ne neue Festplatte - Backups sind gemacht. :(

    Mittlerweile bootet er auch nur noch manchmal richtig.

    Snake: Nach 5 Minuten kann doch noch nix heissgelaufen sein, Manchmal bleibt er ja auch normal an. Hatte mit der Temperatur auch noch nie Probleme, da ich nicht übertakte.

    Sieht aber trotzdem nach nem Hardwareproblem aus, denk ich.
    Kann jemand mit den Screens was anfangen?

    Hallo.
    Ich habe seit ein paar Tagen ein Problem mit meinem Rechner (WinXP Pro).
    Nach ein paar Minuten Laufzeit bleibt er hängen und die Sanduhr taucht auf, nichts geht mehr, ein paar Sekunden später kann man den Cursor auch nicht mehr bewegen, alles ist eingefroren, Strg+Alt+Entf hilft nichts.

    Hat hier vielleicht jemand eine Idee, woran das liegen könnte?

    Meine externe Festplatte macht mir Sorgen...
    Wenn ich sie einschalte, wird sie vom PC nicht mehr erkannt und gibt im Sekundentakt ein Klicken von sich.
    Hab mal nach den Symptomen gegoogelt und schlimme, schlimme Sachen gelesen (Headcrash...).
    Was könnte man denn für Rettungsmaßnahmen unternehmen?

    PS: Macht Backups!

    Unter Ubuntu Linux klappt 5.1-Sound von myspace, youtube usw.
    Hat jemand eine Idee, warum XP das nicht kann, bzw. man diese Tugend von Ubuntu übernehmen kann?

    Der Envy-Einsatz hat leider keine Besserung gebracht.
    Ich werde dann erstmal das Experiment Linux auf den Laptop verlagern und auf meinem Desktop-Rechner wieder good old XP installieren. ;)

    Wer behauptet denn sowas?
    Im Gegensatz zu Windows kann man bei Linux aber unter der Haube nachsehen und die Ursache rausfinden.

    Hallo Leute,
    ich bin vor kurzem vom XP auf Ubuntu umgestiegen.
    Eigentlich läuft alles recht zufriedenstellend, nur ein Problem bekomm ich nicht in den Griff:
    Manchmal (nicht immer), wenn ich Firefox mit dem - rechts oben minimiere, stürzt das ganze System ab und zeigt mir folgenden Bildschirm:

    Ich bin neulich von XP auf Ubuntu umgestiegen.
    Bei einer kleinen Sache könnt ihr mir vielleicht helfen:
    Situation: Doppelklick auf ein Wort in einer URL in der Firefox-Adressbar.
    z.B. bei der Adresse http://www.firefox-browser.de/forum/posting.php, doppelklicken auf das Wort "forum",
    Unter Windows wird dann nur dieses Wort markiert, unter Linux die ganze Adresse.
    Wie schaffe ich es, dass per Klick nur ein Wort markiert wird?
